Butterfly Heat

There’s something about a tiny bikini and an empty beach that instantly changes the mood of the day.

This butterfly print set by Andi Bagus felt like the perfect piece for one of those moody Caribbean moments when the sky turns silver, the ocean gets restless, and everything around me feels a little more alive. The black fabric and vivid pink butterfly details gave the look just the right contrast—soft and playful, but still bold enough to stand out against the muted tones of the sand, driftwood, and stormy horizon.

I wore it on a secluded stretch of beach surrounded by dense tropical greenery, where the jungle practically spills onto the shore and the waves never really stop speaking. The whole scene felt raw and cinematic. My hair was still wet, my skin was covered in salt and sand, and the light kept shifting between sunbreaks and heavy clouds. It was one of those afternoons that doesn’t need much styling because the atmosphere already does half the work for you.

What I loved most about this bikini is how minimal it is while still feeling striking. The delicate strings, the barely-there cut, and the butterfly print give it that signature Andi Bagus energy—sexy, edgy, and made for a setting that feels untamed. Up close, the details really shine. The tiny pink wings on the top and bottom add a fun, feminine twist to an otherwise sleek black set, and paired with layered silver jewelry, hoops, and wet beach skin, the whole look came together so naturally.

Some of my favorite shots from this moment are the ones that feel the least posed. Standing barefoot where the tide reaches the sand, leaning back on a washed-up log with the sun breaking through the clouds, or just turning away from the camera with salt still clinging to my skin—those are the images that captured the feeling best. There’s something beautiful about not trying to over-control the scene and just letting the place, the light, and the movement of the body tell the story.

This beach always has a way of making everything feel more intense—the warmth of the air, the texture of the sand, the shine of water on skin, the contrast between softness and wildness. Wearing this butterfly bikini here felt like stepping into that energy completely. A little delicate, a little dangerous, and completely at home in the middle of the tropics.

Looks like this always remind me that swimwear can be more than just something to wear to the beach. Sometimes it becomes part of the landscape, part of the mood, part of the memory. This Andi Bagus bikini brought exactly that feeling—playful and daring, with just enough color to feel like a flash of wings against the dark, wild edge of the Caribbean.
