The Caribbean sun in Punta Uva hits different when you’re living fully as a cow beach girl, and Arrecife Sand Bar became my perfect stage the moment my bare feet sank into that warm golden sand. I showed up in my cream cowboy hat tipped just so over long dark braids, a simple gray bandeau top, those bright yellow short shorts that catch every ray of light, a single strand of pearls, and nothing else but a water bottle swinging from my hand and the soft Caribbean breeze on my skin. Right in front of the bamboo walls and open wooden shutters of Arrecife, with the pink tarp fluttering above and the bold “Arrecife SAND BAR” sign overhead, I leaned into the moment—one hand relaxed at my side, the other holding that white bottle, my little black dog Negrita wandering nearby while the tropical light wrapped around everything. Under the thatched shade of a bamboo post I shifted my weight, one leg slightly bent, eyes looking off into the green while the yellow shorts and gray ties framed every curve against the palm shadows and sandy floor. Later I walked the soft path right past the same wooden structure, hat still on, bottle still in hand, the jungle already starting to close in behind me as the afternoon light filtered through the leaves. Turning my back to the camera on the leaf-strewn trail that cuts through the dense palms and thick undergrowth, I planted both hands on my hips and let the yellow shorts do the talking while the hat sat perfectly against the bright green canopy above. In another second I reached up to adjust the brim, still facing the winding path ahead, the jungle alive with light and shadow all around my bare feet. Back under the thatch I posed again, one arm raised high against the bamboo pole, body angled, braids falling over my shoulders, the yellow shorts and gray top glowing against the tropical backdrop. Every frame felt the same: pure cow beach girl energy—cowboy hat, bare skin, bright yellow, soft sand, my Negrita close by, and the wild green of Punta Uva wrapping around Arrecife like it was made for this exact version of me.
